About

As Artist and Spectator Julie is interested in the ‘Edgelands’- the Everyday, the Overlooked, and the Undesirable, which is usually inspired by Nostalgia and Historical events. Everything she paints is based on her observations. The work often departs from the real with dramatic skies that introduce tension and atmosphere to her work.
Born in Halifax, West Yorkshire. Joined the British Army in 1982, serving 22 years and reaching the rank of Warrant Officer Class 2 in the Royal Logistics Corps. Now living and working as an artist in Darlington, County Durham.
